bio

Juan Garcia-Herreros is widely known under his indigenous name, Snow Owl.

The Colombian-born musician grew up in the USA and now lives in Austria.– a global wanderlust that is reflected in his music.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he was snapped up for wide-ranging concerts, and has amassed a star-studded roster of collaborations that includes names like Al Jarreau, Elton John and Christina Aguilera.

He has toured the world as soloist with a symphony orchestra presenting the works of film composer Hans Zimmer. And Snow Owl’s solo work has likewise received plentiful acclaim and accolades.

In addition to a Latin Grammy nomination, he scooped three Gold Medals at the prestigious Global Music Award.

In 2019 readers of two specialist magazines singled him out as the „Best Bass Player In the World“.

But Snow Owl has no intention of resting on his laurels. He tirelessly works on new material and can be found in studios and on stages throughout the world.

Juan complements his musical activities with passionate social engagement, championing the causes of refugees and integration in his chosen home and supporting musical education opportunities for children and young people in the country of his birth.
